About me
About Me
Hi! I'm Heather.
For close to a decade, I’ve supported hundreds of families through pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period across hospital, birth center, and home settings. That breadth of experience has shaped how I work today, with a strong emphasis on preparation, clear communication, and continuity of care.
What I’ve learned over time is that birth isn’t defined by the setting or the plan, but by how supported someone feels as things change. The way support is offered during pregnancy carries forward into labor and into the early days of parenting. Because of that, my role begins from the start of our time together and stays consistent—so support doesn’t reset with someone new at each stage.
Earlier in my career, I worked in a high-volume practice, supporting several birth clients each month. While that model offered valuable experience, it left little room for the depth of preparation and relationship I value most. Today, I intentionally work with a smaller number of families so I can offer care that is focused, responsive, and steady. That shift also allowed me to bring comprehensive childbirth education more fully into the center of my work, as well as additional postpartum services.
I support all types of birth and approach each family with respect for their goals, values, and the decision-making process. It’s common for confidence and uncertainty to exist side by side during pregnancy, and both are welcome here. My role is to help you stay informed, oriented, and supported as decisions arise. At the heart of my work is supporting families as they grow into their own intuition as parents—building trust in themselves and in their relationship with their baby.
I currently take on a limited number of clients at a time to ensure care that is intentional, sustainable, and personal. I hope to connect with you.
Warmly, Heather

How I Became a Doula
Before becoming a doula, I worked as a massage therapist. That work gave me a strong foundation in body awareness, presence, and hands-on care—skills that continue to inform how I support people.
My path into birth work deepened through my own experiences becoming a parent. I became a mom at only 19 years old and my pregnancy and postpartum with my daughter were challenging. Then 8 years later, my birth to my son was also deeply impactful. Together, both of those experiences shaped a lasting commitment to informed consent, clear communication with care providers, and ensuring families understand their full range of options as they move through pregnancy and birth. Those experiences highlight how much I value thorough preparation and childbirth education that helps families understand what’s happening in their bodies and feel confident asking questions.
Once I completed my doula training, I began supporting families right away. Since then, my approach has been shaped by years of experience across many different birth settings and circumstances. That experience has reinforced the importance of support that helps families stay oriented, informed, and respected—no matter where or how they choose to give birth.

My Approach
My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, clear communication, and respect for individual needs and choices. I approach each family with curiosity and attentiveness, listening closely and adjusting support as situations evolve.
My support spans pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period and includes informational, emotional, and hands-on elements. I work with families across a wide range of reproductive experiences and settings, with the understanding that meaningful support is responsive, collaborative, and built through engagement.
Preparation is a central part of this work. I offer structured guidance and in-depth childbirth education through materials I’ve developed over years of practice. These resources are designed to help clients understand labor physiology, anticipate common decision points, and build practical coping strategies. When preparation is engaged with, it creates shared language and context that can be drawn on as intensity rises or plans change.
I often think about birth work like guiding a mountain climber! My role isn’t to carry you through the experience, but to help you prepare for the terrain ahead, offer tools and perspective, and stay oriented as things become more demanding. Preparation matters because it allows those tools to feel familiar and usable when they’re needed most.
This work functions best as a partnership. I bring experience, structure, and steady presence; you bring engagement with the process. Together, that’s what allows this process to feel grounded and effective—supporting coping, decision-making, and trust as birth unfolds.
